Two tips to follow when buying shower screen panels for your bathroom

If you have a shower cubicle in your bathroom and you need some new shower screen panels for it, here are some tips to follow when buying them.

Opt for frosted panels if the shower cubicle is near the window

Even if your bathroom window is frosted, you should get frosted screen panels for your shower cubicle if the cubicle is positioned anywhere near the window. The reason for this is that there might be times when you want to have the window slightly ajar whilst you're showering, to let some cool air in or let the hot steam out. If you do this, and a breeze comes through this window and shifts the blind or other window dressing while you're showering, the frosted screen panels around your shower cubicle will ensure that you cannot be seen. These frosted panels will also protect you from being seen whilst you're in the shower if you ever forget to pull the blind down.

If the shower cubicle is compact and you're concerned that panels that are completely frosted will make it feel too small, you can always opt for panels that have a frosted section across the centre and clear glass above and below this section. The frosted centre area should mean that only your head and lower legs will be visible if anyone looks through the open window, whilst the clear glass will allow you to see out of the shower and thus give it a slightly less cramped feel.

Look for panels with an etching that matches the pattern on your bathroom's frosted window

Most frosted bathroom windows have some type of decorative pattern on them. If your bathroom window has this feature, you should try to find screen panels for your shower that match the window's pattern. If the design on your window is quite unique and you don't think you'll be able to find a shower screen with an etching that matches it, you should choose a screen whose etching is within the same pattern family (such as floral, geometric, etc.)  as the window's pattern.

This is worth doing, as the shower screen panels will probably be in your bathroom for several years, as they are not the type of feature that you're likely to replace very often. By ensuring they have some design feature that is similar to the pattern on your bathroom window, your bathroom's aesthetic will be more cohesive and beautiful.
